Origins

Ski Productions is an Award Winning Independent Short Film Production Company based in New England. Ski Productions LLC was founded by Andrew Medeiros in 2019. Ski Productions is Co-Owned and Produced by Andrew Medeiros and Colby Cyrus. The Co-Owners met during production of the formally active YouTube sketch comedy channel Not That Clever. Ski Productions has produced 3 short films that have been officially selected to over 25 film festivals throughout the nation. Coming off the success of the company’s latest film, Muddy Water; Ski Productions is carrying that momentum into the many films they have in various stages of the production process currently.

Along with Co-Owning and Producing for the production company Andrew and Colby both write, director, and act for Ski Productions. A key component to the production team is Spencer Daniel; Ski’s Director of Photography. Spencer has been working closely with Andrew and Colby since he co-founded Not That Clever with Andrew back in 2016. Spencer also often contributes to Editorial tasks for the productions as well. Rounding out the production team is the brother-sister duo of John and Maddie L’orange. John has been working with the production team for a year, and is Ski Production’s “Jack of All Trades”. He works as the head grip, light technician, occasional script supervisor, and often work as a background actor for the team. Maddie is the newest member of the production team, having worked on the production team on the last two film projects. Although she is the newest member she has fit in perfectly with the production unit. Maddie is the sound technician, and prop master.

Andrew Medeiros

Andrew Medeiros is the majority owner of Ski Productions. Born and rasied in Seekonk, MA, he works as a Writer, Director, Actor, and Executive Producer for the production company. He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communications from Mitchell College and a Master’s of Arts degree in Theatre from Emerson College. Andrew states “Filmmaking is the ultimate team enviornment. You achieve as a unit, you fail as a unit, you make mistakes as a unit, and you grow as unit. It is the most daunting, rewarding, terrifying, electric, beautiful, and horrendous medium I’ve ever worked in and there is nothing else on this planet I’d rather be doing.” Andrew, along with partial owner Colby Cyrus, has ambitious plans for expansion and growth of the production company over the next few years and believes the Ski Productions team is the perfect collection of talent to carry out those plans.

Colby Cyrus

Colby Cyrus is the partial owner of Ski Productions. Colby is a Writer, Director, Executive Producer, and Actor for Ski Productions. Colby grew up in the small town of Moosup, CT. Colby graduated Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Business Management. At age 21 he moved to NYC to attend The Acting Studio. Alongside, Andrew, Colby has had an integral hand in developing the production company from the ground up. With similar work ethic and dreams, the two form a dynamic duo in the film industry. He directed and wrote “Muddy Water”, a Ski Productions film that has garnered the most success for the production company to date. With a keen eye for film, the sky’s the limit for Colby and his potential impact on the industry.

Spencer Daniel

Spencer is Ski Productions Director of Photography, and often times the Editor. Spencer was born and raised in Litchfield, CT. Spencer graduated from Mitchell College with a BS in Health and Fitness Sciences. Spencer has worked with Ski Productions over the past two years. He is also currently working in TV in NYC and is also a Freelance Videographer. He strives to learn and grow in his role, he looks to bring his enthusiasm and experience on set to create the best experience for cast and crew passion for storytelling and film have been with him since a young age and he could never picture himself doing anything other than being involved in those two things.

John Lorange

John Lorgane is Ski Productions Head Lighting Technician, Head Grip, Lone PA, and Background Actor. John, along with sister and production teammate MJ, were born in Worcester, MA, before their family uprooted to Mossup, CT. John received his bachelors degree in Political Science at Eastern Connecticut State University, and his masters in Education at Sacred Heart University. He has been working with Ski Productions for about a year. John is relatively new to the film industry. Currently he works as a High school teacher for at risk students in the community. John states “Ski productions has allowed me to learn about all aspects of productions first hand on set. I have been a part of their last three projects: T&C, Muddy Water, and Exitus. I enjoy the opportunity to dive into production and learn as much as I can with this on set experience. Ski productions is a tight knit team that strives to go above and beyond. I couldn’t have ended up in a better place! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for myself and Ski productions!” John is a another bright spot on the team and has made a crucial impact with the unit from day one.
